Warranty & Insurance
FREIGHT PROTECTION
Flexible, cost-effective freight insurance or warranty, for all your shipments or individually.
Freight Warranty & Insurance
Cover Your Goods Against Loss or Damage.
Choose warranty for everyday shipments or add insurance for full-value protection.
Kalgin Global Logistics offers two distinct forms of protection, Warranty and Insurance, to match your cargo’s value and risk requirements. Each is designed to give you control over coverage and peace of mind throughout the journey.
- Warranty: cost‑effective cover up to AU$50,000 per consignment.
- Insurance, provided through Kalgin’s accredited insurance partners:
Full declared value cover up to AU$100,000 for shipments within Australia, or up to AU$50,000 on international legs.
“Think of Warranty as a built‑in safety net for everyday freight, and Insurance as the extra shield when your cargo needs maximum protection.”
Why Cargo Protection Matters
A single lost or damaged shipment can disrupt schedules, inflate costs, and potentially harm your businesses reputation. Kalgin’s two levels of protection can mitigate any negative impact.

Marine Insurance:

Cover up to AU$50 000 per consignment for shipments to or from Australia.
+ When is my shipment covered?
Cover must be purchased before transit begins, and shipments are covered “in transit”. Essentially this is from the moment Kalgin (or our appointed carrier) takes possession, until the shipment is delivered and the proof of delivery (POD) document is signed. See “in transit” below for details
+ What is the procedure to file a claim?

Complete and submit the claim form online.

+ Is there an excess on claims?
There is no excess in the event of a Kalgin Warranty claim. Marine Insurance policies may have excess options available to potential policy holders at time of purchase.
+ What is “in transit”?
In Transit
For both Kalgin Warranty and Kalgin Insurance, “in transit” is the period your freight is physically in our care and still moving toward its destination.
Here are some common examples:
Goods are collected from the sender’s premises and lifted onto the first truck, vessel or aircraft.
Cover starts the moment freight is first moved by Kalgin or our appointed carrier for loading.
Transfer legs between depots, ports, airports or cross-dock facilities (including temporary holding while awaiting the next leg).
Continuous door-to-door movement remains part of the same transit.
Final unloading at the consignee’s site and placement on the ground.
Yes – until the freight is last moved by the carrier. Cover ends once unloading is complete, and control passes to the receiver.
Storage after delivery, unpacking, on-site handling or damage that occurs days later.
These events fall outside the transit window. Only “undetected transit damage” discovered within 1 business day of delivery remains claimable under the time-limit rules.
You divert the freight for long-term storage or any use outside the ordinary route.
The warranty/insurance ends once you interrupt the normal course of transit.
